Why, just why do we not have Sephora in the UK?! Mad, just mad! Literally every time I venture out into Europe and the US I just have to ‘pop’ (slight understatement) into the Sephoras! They’re just like a toy store for make-up addicts!
During my travels to Barcelona, I stumbled upon the one and only Sephora and thus, along with a slight excitement overload, went straight in. It was definitely one of the most amazing Sephora stores I have ever been to! It was HUGE, having to take escalators down to the main area, and feeling like a star walking down a red carpet to get to all the good stuff.
Of course I could not leave without having a good purchase. I was pretty tame for once and bought the Highlighting Compact Powder and Mattifying Foundation Powder.
Mattifying Foundation and Highlighting Powder
The Highlighting Powder is absolutely gorgeous, it gives off such a lovely, shimmery finish which I struggle to find in most high-street brands. I have it in the colour Rose, there was a tanned colour highlighter but I feel the Rose pink suited my skin tone more considering I have red undertones. The powder goes on really nicely but in order to achieve notable shimmer, you’d have to apply it a few times. It is pretty durable and long lasting and doesn’t dry out my skin since it does say it is oil free (I suffer from dry skin) and thus it is good for all skin types. It nice and compact, enabling it to be a good travel case essential! I would totally recommend if you can access a Sephora!
Highlighting Compact Powder in Rose, €11
Next off is the Mattifying Foundation. Although this is a foundation, I am using it as a contour/ bronzer since it was in the sale and was the exact same as the standard Sephora bronzing powder. It comes with a handy mirror and foundation sponge, so perfect for travel! Although the sponge is pretty pointless for me since I reincarnated it as a bronzer!! The fabulous foundation-now-bronzer powder is highly pigmented and you only need to apply the tiniest amount. I bought the colour 50 Foncé Deep in Mocha and it is the perfect brown with no hint of orange! It is matt therefore can be very versatile which is wonderful! I again, highly recommend this product, it almost reminds me of Benefits ‘Hoola’, which is saying something because I adore that bronzer!!Mattifying Foundation (Bronzer / Contour) in 50 Foncé Deep, Mocha €7 So I conclude that both the Highlighting Powder and Bronzer *cough* Foundation, are wonderful and Sephora continue to please me, not that I’d expect any less! Lots of love Alice xx
