Hello everyone, or should I say, Ciao a tutti!
So recently I took a trip to Florence with my parents and friend, Millie. We intended to go there because Millie and I will be moving there in September for our ERASMUS year. For those who don’t know what this is, the ERASMUS year is basically a year abroad for those who study languages at university, to improve their language and learn within that environment.
I am currently studying Italian at theUniversity of Reading, hence going to Florence. I am literally so excited, Florence is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited, packed with beautiful buildings and artworks that exemplifies the beauty of the Renaissance period.
We were only there for 3 days, just to get our barings before the big move!! So I thought I’d share some photos of our trip just to give a little impression of Florence’s beauty. These photo will probably not do the city justice! It’s definitely a place to put on our bucket list!! When I’m out there, I am planning on doing a load of vlogs, I vlogged a bit when I was there so I might put it up on youtube so you guys could have a look!
So these photos either side are of ‘Il Duomo’ which is right in the centre of Florence. It is absolutely stunning and the artwork is just amazing!
Millie and I have been so fortunate and gave got an cute little apartment in the centre of Florence, you can see Il Duomo from the window!! It has been said that Dante Alighieri was born in the same building!!! This square on the left is basically where our apartment is, pretty incredible aye! Here we gave our feet a little rest and had un cappuccino! Era delizioso!
On the right (I sound like a tour guide!) is Il Ponte Vecchio, either side of the bridge are adorable little jewellery boutiques! I love Florence so so so much! Here’s me and Millie having a little pose opposite Il Ponte Vecchio! As you can see it was pretty sunny when we visited!!
I would definitely recommend everyone to visit Florence, it is so beautiful and there is so much to do! It is really central so you can travel to almost anywhere in Italy from it! The train costs are also so cheap in comparison to the British rail prices!!
Lots of love,
