London Fashion Weekend!

I have been absolutely useless at blogging lately!! It’s coming to the end of term so the workload is piling in!! Nevertheless, I’ll start this long-awaited post!   1903077_10152272828219524_357448122_n

Despite not being quite qualified enough to attend London Fashion Week *cry* I decided to get tickets to London Fashion Weekend, which is basically like London Fashion Week, just a lot less paparazzi! It was amazing! It was held at Somerset House from 20-23rd February. I went on the 21st, the weather was so lovely and sunny and not too cold, which is pretty surprising for Britain!

We bought the ‘Silver Ticket’, which enabled us to have a goodie-filled tote bag designed by the wonderful Julien MacDonald and chose to see a designer catwalk – Nicole Farhi. Autumn/Winter 2014 was being showed on the catwalk, and Nicole’s collection was absolutely beautiful, I wanted all of it!! The designs were quite casual and chilled style which is what I definitely go for in the winter, she had quite neutral browns for the majority of the designs with little pops of colour, and some autumnal orange styles. Nicole’s collection included the best tweed jackets ever!! Really gorgeous bomber style winter jackets, which I really really really want to have in my wardrobe!!

Before going to the catwalk we did a spot of shopping there, since there are a load of little rooms filled with up-and-coming designers and other more well known brands. In the ‘shop the catwalk’ room, Ria and I tried on some pretty wacky sunnies, although now I’ve got my eye on some ray-bans!

I really wanted to listen to some of the talks, I know Maybelline did a talk on A/W makeup trends but we missed it as we couldn’t get to London early enough as we had lectures! Next time!

After a couple of hours, we decided to head off and do a spot of shopping in London Town! We drifted of to Covent Garden, since it is just around the corner from Somerset House, and we went straight into Kurt Geiger of course! Some amazing shoes that I’m saving up for! Later in the evening, we went for some cocktails at the Sanderson Hotel, It’s so lovely and wacky there and the cocktails are so yummy!! I opted for a Scarlet Martini and it was delish! I definitely recommend it if you’re popping into the Sanderson!

We’ve had some incredible weather here over in the UK! Doesn’t really help the work load but it has made me majorly excited for Summer!! Need a tan though, I’m so pale I’m practically like Edward Cullen and reflecting the light! Haha!

I hope you’re all having a lovely March!

Lots of love,

Alice xx
