Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour – Covent Garden, London – A Gin Lover’s Haven.

For my Brother’s 26th Birthday, we headed to Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour. My Brother is a true lover of all things Gin, and has pretty much explored the depths of Gin bars in London. However, we managed to find this little treasure in the bustling Covent Garden that he was yet to try.

There was entertainment from the get-go, as we entered and confirmed our reservation, the greeter made a Game Of Throne joke about our surname Boulton…so Mr Fogg’s instantly had my approval. Not only that, but we had to play a game in order to enter. I really loved this small personal aspect as it made you feel relaxed and welcome, and more to the point, ready to taste some Gin.

The interior was fab, its inspiration was a Victorian ‘British Traveller’, and it indeed feels like you’ve flown back in time and having a ‘tipple’ with the upper class Victorians. Filled with eccentric decoration, including Victorian Chaise Lounges and a apothecary style bar, the explorer safari hats made me feel like there should be a Jumanji board-game somewhere!

There are two drink menus, one filled with cocktails and the other listing all their 300 gins for your own infused G&T. I went for a cocktail – Madame Butterfly, which was so nice, whereas the rest of my family chose their desired Gin and Tonic. The waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to suggest gins that one would like according to their favourite elements of gin, i.e citrus, botanical etc. Each gin was infused with specific fruits and spices to fully intensify the underlying flavours of the gin.

The G&Ts were all served in the traditional Gin Balloon Glasses, whilst the cocktails were presented in beautiful Victorian style glasses, very classy! There’s also the option of having afternoon tea, sandwiches or little nibbles. You get complementary cucumber infused water and nuts, which was a nice touch.

Overall, I’m so impressed with Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour and will definitely head back. I’m desperate to try Mr Fogg’s Residence in Mayfair, which looks additionally as amazing.
