So I was on the prowl for a new mascara since my beloved Fairy Drops was running low. I wanted to find a good high street mascara because I feel that you really don’t need to spend the dosh for an amazing mascara. I’ve always been a fan of Max Factor mascara, and I believe their False Lash Effect mascara is amazing. I was close to repurchasing this, but I’m all about trying new things and the lady at the counter (in Chelmsford Boots – who’s customer service was fab! So thank you!) suggested this mascara as it seemed to tick the boxes of what I wanted out of a mascara.
And I’m glad she did!! It’s really really good. It’s a thin plastic wand, so it really tucks under the eyelashes to fully coat the whole length of the lash. The silicone bristles on the wand really separate your lashes too which creates volume that nice and natural (like you’ve got naturally long and thick lashes, not natural in the sense that it looks like you’ve got bugger all on your lashes). Additionally, its long lasting, doesn’t flake, even if you put multiple layers on, it’s buildable, and it doesn’t smudge.
I’m really impressed with this mascara and it is a perfect example of how good high street mascara is and that you really don’t need to splash the cash for amazing lashes. Unless you are a true lover of the luxury brands, then go for it girl, but I’d rather save in places that I don’t need to spend, and cash out on other areas, like foundation, which I think it’s worth buying the luxury brand products. (I’m currently trialling the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which will soon be posted here!)
The Mascara is £10.99, and if you shop in Boots, Maxfactor usually have a load of deals on too, so you may get a freebee if you’re lucky!! I actually got a free blush that I wanted, along with a bronzer that replicated the Hourglass Ambience Lighting collection, and a creme eyeshadow, which I also got free!
Let me know your thoughts on this mascara or any good High Street mascara that you think I should try!
Lots of love,
