I received Laura Geller’s Book of Travels Baked Eyeshadows set and I love them! There’s such a variety of colours, with each palette representing different cities around Italy. There are ten eyeshadows in each palette, which you can use both wet and dry to achieve different levels of pigmentation. There is also a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. All of the shadows have great colour pay off and blend like a dream! Continue reading →
I thought I’d do a little post on my all time favourite fragrances. For me these give the strongest sense of nostalgia, I bought these rare perfumes whilst living in Florence, so every time I give these a little spritz, it takes me right back to my beautiful Tuscan apartment overlooking the Duomo. Now I’ve been absolutely dreading this post since I first started blogging about Florence, since it meant that my Year Abroad had come to an end. It really was the best year of my life and I will never ever forget it. I left Florence on the 2nd August, so I’ve been back in sunny England for almost 3 months and now returned to the wonderful Reading Uni.
So I was looking back on my blog posts and I cannot believe that I haven’t done a post on All’Antico Vinaio!!! It is unarguably the best sandwich shop in the whole of Florence, and I wouldn’t hesitate to say the whole of Italy, perhaps even in the world….get it? It’s ah-mazing.
Il Mercato Centrale is without a doubt one of my favourite places in Florence. The vibe is awesome and the staff are so lovely. It is based on the first floor of the old food market in San Lorenzo. It’s pretty new, with it only being opened in April 2014, which marked the markets 140th Birthday!
I cannot believe that I only have one week left in Florence. It only feels like yesterday that I was moving in and now I’m starting to pack things up! It’s been an amazing year and it’s going to be so hard to say the final farewell. Nevertheless, I’m making the most of my final days here and still exploring this gorgeous city. La Menagere is one of the new top spots in Florence, it is a quirky, contemporary cafe/bar/restaurant in the San Lorenzo area and is attracting quite the crowd!!
Since I’ve finished my work placement and thus have significantly more free time, Millie and I have dedicated July to travel. We recently went to Cinque Terre! I’ve always wanted to go ever since I first arrived in Florence. If you’ve never heard of Cinque Terre, it’s a national park consisting of five small towns on the coast of Liguria. The five towns are; Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. They are beautiful! Continue reading →
